500 Error Received when opening a PDF link
This can happen when your network connection is slow, and the document is loaded on the WordPress servers in the Download/Document Manager tool.
To address this, move the document to Dropbox, remove it from the DM record, and add the public Dropbox link directly to the webpage where it is needed. This will shift the performance load to Dropbox, where users will experience faster download speeds.
NOTE: Compress all your PDF files using ilovepdf.com before uploading them to your PRM-Web Dropbox folder to reduce their file size.
If the problem persists, please submit a ticket to us at tickets@gsu.uservoice.com.
PLEASE NOTE: The Public Marketing sites are for external marketing documents. Any internal documents or Scholarly papers should be hosted on the tools the University provides for these purposes: SharePoint and ScholarWorks.
