Using Admin Columns Pro

Admin Columns Pro is a WordPress plugin that offers a flexible and user-friendly way to customize, manage, and organize your WordPress admin screens. It allows you to tailor the interface to your specific needs and streamline your workflow.

To use Admin Columns Pro, pull up an admin screen and ensure it's set to the List View (not the Grid View). You need to see all the options available (in columns) for a file or page to use Admin Columns Pro, and you can only view them in the List View (see below).

The example above shows the many columns currently listed for each page: Title, Author, Categories, Tags, Date, etc.

To add (or remove) options (columns) to this page, find and click on the "gear" icon.

When the new Admin Columns Pro options page appears, you can see all the columns that you already have the ability to display on the page you came from.

On this page, you can move the rows up or down (which will affect their location on the live list page), edit or remove any of the options you can see, or click on the "+ Add Column" button at the bottom to add a new column to the listing page you came from.

When you edit a current column, you have the option to change the type, label, width of the column, if you want it to be "Inline Edited," or if you want it available for sorting on the page.

Once your choices have been made (or updated), click on "SAVE". Return to the previous listing page to see your changes live.

On the previous page, you should see the option for "Inline Edit."  This is a useful tool that allows you to make changes to your column items on the list page itself, so that you don't have to open up the actual page.

Once you activate Inline Editing, you can click on the pencil (edit) icon next to every option that is set up to allow you to "inline edit."  Make your changes and save them.

And finally, you also have the option to choose which columns you want to view at any given time on the list page itself. Click on the "Screen Options" tag on the top right of the list page.

This will open up a drop-down menu of all the available columns you can select (or deselect) on this page.
