Capturing and Sharing Web Pages

Tools to capture and share published and in progress web pages with non-WordPress users can come in handy during this time when we are not face to face.

There are two main options for sharing in progress web pages or other web content for review when you don't want to send a live link. These are also useful when you need to capture a screenshot to show errors and/or examples.

Option 1: Public Post Preview

When building new web pages, while working in draft mode, there is a public preview option which allows you to send a link to non-WordPress users for review. The link is valid for 48 hours (default) by the recipient. If your build takes longer, you can increase the default time limit under setting and also resend the link and it will be valid for another 48 hours.

Option 2: Awesome Screenshot Browser Extension
Awesome screenshot browser extension works best with Firefox or Chrome. It adds a small icon to the browser that always you to capture the visible screen, entire page or a selection from the page. The entire page and selection options are particularly useful when you need to capture a long page or content further down the page.

Once you have completed the capture, you have the option to annotate it and then save it as an image or pdf which you can then share in email, Basecamp, Teams, etc.
