Installing a Template Package from the Commkit?

USED WITH COMMKIT TEMPLATE INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Unzip the downloaded file
The package downloads as a .zip file.

Windows: Right-click on the file and select "Extract All," and then follow the prompts.

Mac: Depending on your system's settings, the file may unzip itself upon download. If not, double-click on the file to unzip it.

Step 2: Login to your WordPress dashboard

In the dashboard's left navigation bar, hover over "WPBakery Page Builder" and select "Templatera."

Step 3: Import the XML file

Next to "Import VC Templates," select “Choose File.” In your computer's file browser, navigate to the .xml file within the unzipped folder and select it.

Select “Save Changes.”

Step 4: Edit the template

While still in the dashboard, under WPBakery Page Builder > Templates you will find a list of templates available to you, including the ones you just uploaded. Click on the name of a template you wish to edit, and you can make changes to it just like any other WPBakery page, using all the same tools available to you on the rest of your site pages and posts.

After making your changes, save the template.

Step 5: Add the template to a page

There are two ways to add a template on a page: 1) as a layout template, to provide a shell page or section for a new or existing page or 2) to display content that will be repeated on multiple rows such as a contact row.

To add a template to use as a layout, choose the WPBakery template icon,

To add a template that will be reused across multiple pages, on the page that you want to add a template to, click on the "+" to add a new element. Then select "Templatera". A pop-up menu will appear with a dropdown menu that displays all the templates available on your site. Select the template that you want to use and post it on the page. Templates placed using "Templatera", must be edited under WPBakery Templates not on the actual page.
