put a link to the W-2 somewhere people can ******* find it
I've spent maybe 45 minutes wandering from site to site trying to find a link to a downloadable PDF of my W-2, because I lost my paper copy. I can't find that anywhere. It's not in PAWS, it's not here (as far as I can see), it's ******* nowhere.
Let me give you a basic course in website design: organize your web-site according to what users will want, not by how your department is organized. Identify the resources that your users are likely to want, and put links to those resources right on the front page, even if that results in a bunch of links to seemingly arbitrary set of links. A classic idiot's mistake in website design is to organize the site around something other than the parts that users want, like how your department classifies resources internally; that makes sense to you, but is useless to users. It doesn't matter if the W-2 is a "form" and you have a form section, or a "report" and you have a report section. If most people are going to want a W-2 - and I suspect that that's a common thing - pull it out of the report or form section or wherever the **** you've buried it and put a link on the top-level page.
Thanks for the feedback. A direct link is available under the “Human Resources” options on the “Faculty/Staff” menu at the top of the page. Good idea to make this more visible.
